When a divorce or legal separation is filed and the other party is served or accepts service, an automatic temporary injunction immediately restrains both parties. It prohibits transferring or concealing marital property outside the usual course of business or necessities of life. It also bars harassment and prevents changes to insurance coverage without consent or court order. Parents are restrained from removing children from Colorado without agreement or a court order. The injunction stays in place until the final decree or further order of the court. Its terms appear on the summons and petition so both parties are on notice.
